ABOUT US

The idea to develop a research network occurred on June 29, 2009, in Blackpool, UK, during the International Conference Resorting to the Coast. Tourism, Heritage and Cultures of the Seaside, organised by the Centre for Tourism and Cultural Change, Leeds Metropolitan University. It included a session on “Representation, Interpretation and Perceptions,” in which Anna Papanicolaou, Estela Marine Roig and Maria João Cordeiro met and welcomed the idea of setting up a network of researchers working on different textual and visual means of tourist mediation.

This blog is a starting point for what will hopefully prove to be a fruitful resource and an academic forum of debate and exchange.
