The aim of this blog is to provide a multidisciplinary communication platform for researchers academically involved in the study of travel discourses and cultural representations in tourism.
It is intended to establish a worldwide connection between academics and researchers whose investigation interests irrespective of their scientific focus are concerned with any form of the diverse and overwhelming array of textual and visual materials produced on tourist destinations and for tourist consumption. These range from the canonical manifestations of travel literature to the neglected genre of guidebooks, press travel articles, as well as the unlimited, largely unexplored universe of tourist brochures, leaflets, catalogues, postcards, photographs, websites, videos, TV programmes and CD-ROMs.
Travel Discourse Research Network welcomes researchers and academics interested in encouraging a forum for exchanging ideas, discussing bibliography, methodologies, planning and/or reporting on (joint) activities and events. Join us!
